fishy pictures

Unknown Mami
This past week my wife got some free tickets for the Shedd Aquarium here in Chicago.  They have a new show called "Fantasea".  We were invited to preview the show.  It was an interesting entertaining show.

The Shedd Aquarium is right on the lake and the grand view of the lake adds to its enjoyment.

Another aspect of our visit was the more relaxed less crowded aquarium since the summer crowds are gone.

Here's some pictures.

Here' more on the new show:

We were in Chicago a couple of years ago and debated about going to the aquarium. Weren't sure if it was going to be worth the money. Now wish we had gone! Great pictures.

It's so much more enjoyable when the crowds have dissipated.

I like your fishy pictures.

I like the first pic of the boat especially. Next time I visit Chicago, I have to visit the aquarium.

Love the pictures and loved Shedd Aquarium. When we were there, there was a penguin show, I believed in the same general area. Didn't really like to see the penguins away from home but we had fun at the museum (they had more than just aquarium right? It has been a while back).

Thanks everyone and I hope you come and visit the aquarium and Chicago too.
@ocean girl - ocean girl and aquariums ? I'm thinking you could be a critic of aquariums. Yes there's planetarium and natural history museum within walking distance.

Thanks for the aquarium tour! Lovely photos! I'd love to visit your city someday!

lisleman, now that you have put it like that, I didn't love the aquarium, I loved that day in Chicago. And the walk by the water was memorable. (Now you have made me cry or I have chosen to cry).

My daughter loves fish! She would love this, thanks for sharing the photos!

@carolyn and @newmami_rgv thanks for sharing the comments

@ocean girl - wow, did you take my reply comment the wrong way. It's hard at times to express a thought with just text. I was just thinking that your ocean living experience would give you a different and perhaps more knowledgeable view of an aquarium. While having animals in their natural places is important, the aquarium offers protection for some and education for many that would never visit these wild places.

aquarium is safe like a castle to royal or rich and famous people, they are not as free as us :) great photos in your city.

@babYpose - thanks - makes we wonder if a free fish eaten by another free bigger fish enjoyed their life better.

Love the Shedd! Can't believe how it's changed from when I was little.

@FF - I believe it has only gotten better.

Awesome Aquarium. Chicago is such a great town and diverse. From fashion to food.

I just shut down my two aquariums, both huge each at least 90 gallons apiece. Decided I did not want the monthly duty anymore of cleaning them. Now I have no idea what to do with them.

How about having your own Shedd?? Free to a good home :-)

PS the fish are also at good homes, except the one we had for dinner last week, he he

@manoverboard - ah no thanks on the fish offer. Sounds similar to my daughter's house. The house included a stocked aquarium. Those tanks are good for reptiles too.
