air route video

This video is especially interesting to me as an xfoner. If you are thinking about coverage for the airline routes this is good quick way to visualize it. It found this over on "Doc Searls Weblog"

This is just a snapshot of it. You can download it over there. It's fairly large 20 some MB, so I suggest you just follow the link. This snapshot doesn't tell the story. Watching the patterns change over time is the interesting part. At the start of the video there is a counter of total flights at that time. The low count is 4-5 thousand and the hight is about 20 thousand. That's alot of flights.

On a different subject - google has a great reader (RSS blogs) that is easy to setup. That is why I noticed the air route post. I don't always remember to check out that blog so it much easier with the reader giving me the post headlines.

Lisleman,

I tried the link in yer e-mail AND tjhe link in yer blog and I couldn't get the damn video to play. I do remember a website we used to go to back in the olden days that had a looped video representation thingy. Kinda looked like tracer fire in the night sky.

I just tried it and got to the video and it played.

Note - the link I have is to another blog who has a link to the video. so you need to go there and click on his link.

ALSO - the clip is in quicktime so if you don't have quicktime loaded (free) it wouldn't play

if it was on youtube it would be easy.
